The first Christmas card was created in 1843. Sir Henry Cole, a British artist and inventor, is credited with creating the first commercial Christmas card. He designed a card with a picture of a family enjoying a festive meal and wrote the message "A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and all the members of your family." The card was printed and sold for one shilling.
